With a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and exceptional service, the company supports some of the most prestigious brands in the cruise industry.Position OverviewTheTechnical Superintendentwill be responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical operation of assigned cruise and/or expedition vessels. This role requires a proactive leader with strong engineering expertise, a deep understanding of the cruise industry, and the ability to ensure the highest standards of performance, safety, and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure the safe, reliable, and economic operation of assigned vessels.Be fully conversant with and effectively implement the Company's Management System .Contribute to the development and improvement of company procedures .Monitor technical performance, operational condition, and maintenance of vessels under responsibility.Ensure all vessels remain fully certified and compliant with international regulations and classification requirements.Plan, coordinate, and oversee repairs, dry dockings, and refits, ensuring cost efficiency and timely completion.Maintain prudent budgetary control and financial management of vessel operations.Prepare and submit technical reports to owners in line with management agreements.Support shipboard management with technical and operational guidance, fostering teamwork and collaboration.Promote and develop a strong safety culture and environmental & energy awareness onboard.Assist with purchasing activities and cost control in accordance with company procedures.Ensure vessels are appropriately manned and resourced to maintain operational excellence.Qualifications and ExperienceMarine Engineering degree from a recognised university, with at least 3 years' seagoing experience onboard cruise and/or expedition vessels, orHolder of a Chief Engineer's license with a minimum of 2 years' sea service as Chief Engineer on cruise and/or expedition ships.Minimum 2 years' experience as a Technical Superintendent within a cruise ship management or shipping company.Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken).Comprehensive knowledge of marine industry standards, classification society and flag state requirements, and relevant international regulations .Proven technical expertise in vessel systems and machinery.Experience in purchasing and budgetary cost control processes.What's OfferedA key role within an established and reputable cruise management organisation.Competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience.
