Limerick, IrelandJob type: Permanent / Full-timeSector and subsector: Medical & Healthcare | Nursing & MidwiferySalary: Negotiable salaryEmployer: Windmill Healthcare is currently recruiting for a qualified Senior Nurse to join our Care Team at Abbot Close Care Centre, Askeaton, Co Limerick.Applicants must be currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and be passionate about Gerontological Care.Applicants must have the flexibility to cover both day and night shifts.ResponsibilitiesEnsure implementation of care plans for each resident and feedback any changes in the health of the residents to the Clinical Nurse Manager.Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Manager in preparing and implementing resident care plans and Audits.Maintain a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.Collaborate with residents and the multi disciplinary teams to facilitate appropriate continuity of care.Adhere to evidence-based practice, using a care planning approach to nursing care.To participate in the development and implementation of the quality and safety management system.Overseeing unit to ensure compliance with care plans and assessments completed in a timely manner.Auditing documents and practise as requested.Leading the orientation of new staff members on Duty.Development of care plans.Practice nursing according to the professional code of An Bord Altranais and the policies and procedures of Abbot Close Care Centre.Participate as a team member of the multi-disciplinary care team in all aspects in the delivery of resident care.QualificationsA registered General Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by NMBI or be entitled to be so registeredEvidence of continuous professional developmentPost Graduate Diploma in GerontologyManagement QualificationsIT SkillsExperienceMinimum three years post-graduate experience.Minimum one years post-graduate experience of Care of the Older personHave in-depth knowledge of the aging processExperience in Psychogeriatric Nursing Care/Dementia care
