We are hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing for a leading Nursing Home in Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities Ensure the delivery of high-quality care to residents/patients and their families, aligned with organisational mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.
Promote and maintain resident safety while delivering person-centred care that respects dignity, privacy, and individual rights.
Foster an inclusive environment that respects diversity, including age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, family status, civil status, race, religion, and cultural background.
Build meaningful relationships with residents to support autonomy, informed choice, and evidence-based decision-making.
Recognise each resident as an individual, prioritising their rights, needs, preferences, and overall comfort in all aspects of care.
Apply a management approach that supports and maximises residents' independence, personal choice, and self-determination.
Ensure effective, clear, and compassionate communication with residents, addressing and documenting their communication needs within care plans.
Maintain open and ongoing communication with families, visitors, and relevant professionals to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
Safeguard residents from all forms of abuse, neglect, or discrimination, and support access to legal or financial advice where concerns arise.
Ensure comprehensive assessment and timely development of individualised care plans (within 48 hours of admission), including support for dementia and cognitive care needs, while respecting resident participation and confidentiality.
Requirements Registered General Nurse on the Nursing and Midwifery Board register.
Post-registration qualification in Dementia Care.
Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
Post-registration qualification in Management, Healthcare, or a related discipline.
Postgraduate Diploma in Gerontology (desirable).
QQI Level 6 or higher qualification in Management and/or Leadership (desirable).
Minimum of 3 years post-registration nursing experience.
At least 2 years' experience in the care of older persons.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a management role within health or social care settings.
Experience in psychogeriatric care, psychiatry, or adult disability services (desirable).
Strong knowledge and understanding of the ageing process (desirable).
