OverviewThe Senior Finance Business Partner will be responsible for the commercial finance and business partnering activities across multiple business divisions. The role involves driving strategic capital allocation and financial performance, partnering with senior leadership to lead budgeting, forecasting, investment governance, and cost efficiency programs. Lead a high-performing team to deliver commercial insights and financial control, while enhancing business accountability and process excellence.You will be responsible for performance monitoring, reviewing business cases and requests for capital investment, supporting the business in obtaining budget for purchasing and initiating efficiency programs to improve cost intensity. You will be a key financial business partner to the Directors and Senior Managers within the group. Together with the other SFBPs & FBPs this role forms the Ireland Capital Allocation & Business Control team led by the Deputy CFO. This team works collaboratively with other finance functions including the head office Shared Services Centre to ensure that finance processes and ways of working are adhered to and operating effectively.The role requires someone who is highly organised, has strong attention to detail, is naturally inquisitive and has a proactive approach to improving processes and developing new ways of reporting.ResponsibilitiesLeading a team of finance business partners and grads to drive performance and deliver Finance priorities across a number of business divisionsWork closely with, and influence, senior management to help drive business performance – helping to ensure high-quality financial decisions are madeProvide objective financial advice and opinions that positively impact future business decisionsIdentify and drive financial efficiency with Wholesale & Shared Services leadership teams, ensuring resources are allocated effectively with a focus on cost control and value-for-moneyProvide objective challenge regarding spend plans and proactively seek opportunities to deliver services more efficientlyInvestigate opportunities and address high-risk and material financial issues with the businessSupport the business in increasing financial accountability by coaching and training to improve financial confidence and competence across the Commercial Leadership teamEnsure Capital Allocation framework is applied efficiently and enhanced according to business requirements for the groupMonitor financial performance to achieve financial objectivesMonthly performance reviews with Deputy CFO, VPs and CFOOversee and facilitate annual planning processes for multiyear strategic plans, budgets and monthly forecastsLead the Wholesale & Shared Services monthly processes, including KPIs and P&L for Senior Leadership and CFO reviewPrepare the Annual Budget and materials for CEO sign-off with attention to numerical precision and business driversOversee Capital Investment governance processes and controls (CER, project controls)Lead the review of business cases and assist in obtaining budget for high-return investment opportunities for Wholesale & Shared Services divisionsEnsure adherence to relevant guidelines (US GAAP, Purchasing Policy, etc.)Skills & ExpertiseQualified accountant, ideally from a Big 4 firm2-3 Years PQEExperience in a previous business partner roleAdvanced financial modelling skillsAbility to analyse trends to understand key drivers and their impact historically and in the futureAbility to translate complex finance analysis into layman terms for business communicationPrior experience leading finance professionalsThe PersonFirst-class problem solving skills with the ability to get to the heart of the matterEffective communication with the business, identifying key impacts and detailsA collaborative team player who leads by exampleAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changeA methodical approach to daily tasks and project workResourceful and self-motivated with a willingness to explore opportunitiesHow to applyInterested candidates should send their CV to sarah.kelly@afrecruitment.ieJob detailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Finance and Accounting/AuditingIndustries: TelecommunicationsContact and location details may be subject to regional posting status.
