Exciting Career Opportunity – Health Care Assistant
Job Purpose
The Healthcare Assistant is a member of the department team appointed to support Registered Nurses in the delivery of direct patient care. The role involves contact on a physical and psychological level with patients and their families.
The post holder will undertake a range of activities under the supervision of a registered nurse, having been assessed and deemed competent in the activities required to provide an efficient service for patients at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick, Barringtons.
Candidate Criteria:
Qualifications
* Possess Leaving Certificate Qualification or equivalent
* Possess a relevant Health Skills Qualification as outlined in the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), formerly FETAC, on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) of no less than QQI Level 5
* Have satisfactory relevant acute hospital experience, demonstrating equivalent skills
* Hold an up-to-date Basic Life Support course or be in pursuit of the same (Desirable)
* Pre-Nursing Course or equivalent, e.g., IATI, EMT (Desirable)
