Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the planning and implementation of all manufacturing processes in the plant, such as change control, cost reduction, quality improvement, and safety/ergonomic enhancements. The role involves collaborating closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, and other departments on various projects, as well as leading continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop process sheets and standard operating procedures for production lines.
2. Coordinate the movement of equipment within the plant and determine optimal layouts.
3. Provide technical assistance during the start-up of new equipment or lines.
4. Plan and implement cost-saving projects, line balance changes, and other operational improvements.
5. Lead and facilitate Kaizen events focused on waste elimination and efficiency increase.
6. Assist with troubleshooting equipment and processing issues.
7. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, downtime, and labor efficiencies.
8. Support maintenance initiatives by contributing to preventive maintenance programs.
9. Collaborate with engineering resources to design tooling and fixtures.
10. Work with logistics team members to improve material flow and throughput.
11. Participate in cross-functional teams to develop project plans and resolve complex problems.
12. Apply lean principles to eliminate non-value-added activities and reduce wasted time and motion.
13. Provide guidance and training to operators and technicians on equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related field preferred.
2. Minimum three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
