Background

Based in Dublin, we are a veterinary buying group that represent 60 veterinary practices within Ireland. We work on behalf of our members to deliver savings and business supports throughout the various areas of their practices.

We are a small team operating in a quickly changing and developing market and continue to grow significantly within it. We believe in helping independent veterinary practices to compete in an increasingly competitive market and are always looking for new services and supports that we can implement to do this.

The Role

As a result of significant growth, we are seeking a Commercial Manager to help build our business. This role offers the opportunity to significantly impact a business, its clients and the market. We are a small, fast growing and agile company that highly value our team, clients and partners. This is a senior role in the business with significant responsibility for the growth and development of the group. This role has the scope to shape the strategic direction of the business and implement significant change throughout.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work within all areas of the market. You will work with all stakeholders in the industry including large and small animal practices, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors. You will have an opportunity to shape not just the growth of Vetzone but also impact our members’ businesses and help them to grow and develop their businesses also.

The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive knowledge of the dynamics within the veterinary market in Ireland, both from a wholesale and manufacturer perspective but also from the standpoint of the independent vets therein. They should have good relationships and experience with practices in both the large and companion animal sides of the market.

You will need to be able to think strategically. To identify opportunities as well as plan and implement them. While the role will have support throughout the candidate is expected to operate autonomously and maintain responsibility for their areas of the business.

Key responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

·Work with the managing director to manage and grow the Vetzone membership of practices throughout the market on both the LA and CA sides of the market.

·Work closely with and manage partnerships with manufacturers, wholesalers and other stakeholders within the market.

·Help to plan, develop and market new products and services as a part of the growth strategy for the business.

·Develop and implement strategies for growth in other areas of the business.

·Work with the office team to forecast expected outlook and expectations for short, medium and long-term deliverables.

·Work with our customer base to understand and develop new supports and services to help grow their businesses.

·Take ownership of procurement for the group, managing the tender and rebates systems therein.

·Maintain a good understanding of the macro and micro market dynamics that may influence our business.

Skills

Required

·Strong experience in and knowledge of the veterinary Industry.

·A degree in a business-related discipline and/or a strong commercial background.

·A strong sales background with a proven history of success.

·Good understanding of the buying group landscape, the stakeholders therein and the competitive landscape.

·Relationships with veterinary practices throughout the CA&LA market.

·Familiarity with the rebates and discounts structures in the market.

·Experience managing budgets and forecasting expected deliverables.

·Strategic mindset with a history of planning and executing medium and long term plans

·Strong negotiation skills and commercial understanding.

·Accurate with a high level of attention to detail.

Preferred

·Experience within the Northern Irish market.

·Experience in a similar role within the veterinary market. ls
