We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator – Electrical to join our growing estimating team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor components.
Maintain and organise project documentation such as PIR reports, drawings, cost sheets, and supplier quotations.
Support the tendering and remediation process by logging, updating, and tracking all relevant documentation.
Review and analyse technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and compare quotations.
Work closely with senior estimators to benchmark costs and refine pricing databases.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and health & safety regulations.
Contribute to post-tender analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent organisational and document management skills.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); knowledge of Maximo or estimating software is an advantage.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Positive, proactive team player with a professional approach.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or Quantity Surveying (Mechanical/Electrical focus).
Previous internship or work placement within the construction or engineering sector desirable.
Familiarity with estimating or tendering processes advantageous.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
