My client, Ireland's leading food retailer with a reputation for brand excellence and community values, is seeking a Senior Buying Manager – Food to lead the strategic development and commercial performance of a key food category.

Flexible working model Responsibilities of the Senior Buying Manager include: Own and optimise the commercial performance of your category through annual trading plans and targeted budgets
Drive revenue and margin growth by setting and monitoring product costs, pricing, and portfolio profitability
Develop a compelling food range based on market trends and consumer insight
Lead the introduction of innovative Own Brand products in collaboration with product development teams
Negotiate best-in-class purchase terms, ensuring quality, availability and competitiveness
Build and manage long-term supplier relationships that support joint business planning
Act as the commercial link between the brand and the retail network, supporting execution and implementation through effective store toolkits
Align category plans with brand values and customer expectations
Contribute to and lead strategic projects that enhance trading performance and category impact Requirements for the Senior Buying Manager include: 3+ years' experience in a buying, category, or trading role in retail or FMCG
Strong commercial acumen and track record of delivering profitable category growth
Passion for food and deep awareness of food trends and shopper behaviour
Solid understanding of the Irish and/or UK grocery market
Excellent negotiation, communication and supplier relationship management skills
Proficient in data analysis with a strategic, insights-led approach
Knowledge of category management principles an advantage
