Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Operative to join their busy workshop. Responsibilities: Assist with the assembly and fabrication of mechanical components and machinery. Operate workshop tools and machines to produce accurate, high-quality parts. Inspect and measure components to ensure they meet specifications. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment. Carry out tests and inspections to identify faults or defects. Operate machinery safely, keeping equipment calibrated and well maintained. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment, following all safety procedures and PPE requirements. Help manage inventory and keep accurate records of parts, repairs, and maintenance. Conduct quality checks to ensure completed work meets industry standards. Skills & Experience: Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery (lathes, mills, CNC). Strong understanding of mechanical principles. Mechanical workshop experience preferred. Experience with CNC, welding, or specialized systems beneficial. CAD/CAM knowledge an advantage. Relevant apprenticeship, qualification, or mechanical engineering experience desirable. Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
