Dovida is Irelands leading Private Home Care Provider. In addition to supporting older adults, we also provide care and support to people with disabilities, including those under 18 years of age in their own homes. We work with people with physical and sensory disabilities, intellectual disability and autism.
We are seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team who are passionate about working with disabled children and young adults. Candidates must be highly motivated to contribute to enriching the lives of the people we support.

Role Objectives
The role of a Support Worker is to provide high quality care and support to people with disabilities who avail of our home support service. We support to reach their full potential and to have a meaningful life.
On a day-to-day basis you shall
* Support the individual to implement their care and support plan to live well at home and in their community. This may include supporting and encouraging them with personal care, the tasks of daily living, education, hobbies and skills development to achieve their goals.
* Support the individual to de-escalate any behaviours of concern in a positive and safe manner in line with their care and support plan. Staff will be provided with CPI training as required.
* Implement plans to support communication, play, exercise and therapies as required. Where necessary, training will be provided.
* Drive and/or escort the individual via public transport or car if required, to and from social activities, appointments or planned outings.
* Promote and safeguard the rights of all individuals and be aware of responsibilities in relation to child protection/adult safeguarding.
* Maintain service records and ensure that they are up to date and available, including report writing following incidents or events resulting from responsive behaviour.
* Liaise with team members and families as appropriate.
* Keep accurate records and report any incidents, accidents and concerns and complaints in line with Company policy.
* Be familiar with and adhere to all Company policies and procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice in so far as is reasonable and practicable.
* Maintain a code of confidentiality and discretion in all dealings with individuals, their families and work colleagues.
* Be able and willing to be flexible in approach to work and be responsive to service needs.
* Engage in shift work/Flexible 7/7 rota.
The successful candidate will have
Essential Criteria:
QQI Level 5 Major Award in one of the following:
* Healthcare Support
* Social Care
* Pre-Nursing qualification
* Childcare or special needs assistance qualification
* Full Irish Driver's Licence required or in the process of achieving a Full Irish Driver's Licence (desirable but not essential)
* Be eligible to work in the State
Skills/Experience
* Experience of supporting people with disabilities – physical disability, intellectual disability or autism intellectual disability / autism.
* Experience of working with people with responsive behaviours is desirable, however if required, full training is provided.
* Experience of providing personal care and supporting people with their activities of daily living.
Basic IT skills for apps and logging care notes.Calm person who is a good problem solver
