Dublin Rape Crisis Centre
(DRCC) exists to prevent harm and heal the trauma of sexual violence. We provide a range of specialised services, including our National 24/7 Helpline, face-to-face therapy, accompaniment and advocacy, and education and training to those supporting survivors.
The Vacancy
DRCC is recruiting a part-time
Support Worker
to join our accompaniment service. This service provides support, information, and accompaniment to victims/survivors of sexual violence. The Support Worker role involves accompanying victims/survivors to the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU) in the Rotunda Hospital, supporting them when reporting sexual violence to external organisations such as the Gardaí, and accompanying them to any related trial, court case, or hearing.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team at an exciting stage in the development of both the accompaniment service and the organisation.
The successful candidate will make a significant and varied contribution to the work of
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.
The person appointed to the role will be required to travel as part of the role as required to support people accessing DRCC's accompaniments services e.g. attending Gardai Stations to support clients making a report.
While there are set hours associated with this role, flexibility is required as some work may take place at weekends/after normal working hours on occasions.
