We design some of the most complex and specialized facilities being constructed today, including semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities, and other state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with excellent communication skills and a passion to apply professional experience in a collaborative, technically challenging environment.ResponsibilitiesDevelop Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) following ANSI/ISA S5.1 symbology.Perform panel design, including panel layout and wiring diagrams.Manage demanding schedules, prepare accurate reports, and demonstrate strong communication skills.Be accountable for delivering design work on state-of-the-art structures within Advanced Facilities and collaborating with a multi-discipline team across projects.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in an engineering subjectAt least 8 years of Instrument & Controls (I&C) design experienceExperience using Revit or AutoCADAble to navigate NavisworksIdeally, you’ll also have Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applicationsPiping & Instrument Diagram Development (P&ID) including ANSI/ISA S5.1 symbologyKnowledge of control systems architecture development, network security systems, motor control and power distribution systemsInterpret varied instrumentation and engineering diagrams, specifications and schematicsControl panel design. Knowledge of UL508A requirements for industrial control panelsKnowledge of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, flow, and analytical instrumentation. Understand the principles of operations, terminology, safety considerations and applications for common analytical instrumentsKnowledge of control valves including valve sizingExperience with Revit, BIM360, Navisworks, and AutoCADStrong communication skills both verbal and writtenStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsForward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideasAbility to learn quickly and broaden knowledge baseAbility to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teamsPassion for buildings and construction#NCAM26About Jacobs – inclusion, benefits and working cultureJoining Jacobs connects you locally and globally.
