Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Special Lecturer/Clinical Tutor (Medical Intern Programme)- St Vincent's University Hospital within UCD School of Medicine.
The Special Lecturers/Clinical Tutors play a major role in supporting, organizing and delivering clinical teaching for our students on rotation in our affiliated Teaching hospitals.
The Clinical Tutors instruct and supervise students / interns during their clinical attachment, provide lectures and tutorials as part of the formal clinical curriculum and assist with the preparation of clinical examinations.
They provide academic support and career mentoring to students / interns and ensure that the clinical rotation supports the learning objective of the relevant module.
A number of Clinical Tutors are also actively involved in our biomedical, clinical or medical education research working with a specific Principal Investigator and may be undertaking a higher research degree (e.g.
MD, MCh, MAO, MSc or Ph D).
These individuals are responsible for undertaking research experiments or data reviews and disseminating their findings through publication as a thesis, in academic journals or at scientific meetings.
All Clinical Tutors are part of a vibrant community of academic staff who pass on their clinical experience and expertise to the next generation of medical professionals.
The School provides academic support and training such that the Tutors themselves develop their own educational expertise and leadership.
Special Lec/Clinical Tutor_ _X) Salary Scale: €68,891 - €81,126 Per Annum Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
