Overview
Job Title: Development Specialist (MSAT / Tech Transfer).
Location: Arklow.
Reporting to the MSAT Manager and working closely with cross-functional teams on site, the Development Specialist will project manage Product and Analytical Transfers and Launches from an operational perspective.
You will support operational teams through process optimisation and continuous improvement, driving high performance through Performance 360 (Quality, Cost, Safety, Delivery and Engagement).
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive development/MSAT professional who enjoys ownership, visibility, and working across Production, QC, Validation and R&D.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Project manage the introduction of new processes, products and technologies within the operational stream.
Drive process optimisation with a strong focus on reliable product delivery to market.
Liaise with R&D in France regarding new analytical methods and technologies.
Perform/co-ordinate material and equipment trials with support from Operations and Validation.
Analyse and recommend improvements to production processes and methods to reduce cost and improve quality.
Support investigations into production and QC issues, defects and deviations.
Review and trend QC and Production data to predict risk areas and propose preventative actions.
Assist area management with department and site communications.
Support customer complaint investigations as required.
Stay up to date with new methods, tools and industry best practice.
Collaborate fully with operational teams to solve problems and drive opportunities.
Drive change initiatives and build strong relationships across the site.
Benchmark with other sites and attend relevant conferences/external events as relevant.
Essential Requirements
Relevant Science / Pharmacy qualification (or similar).
Experience working in a pharmaceutical environment.
Strong project management and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High initiative with the ability to work autonomously.
Ability to balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines/budgets and deliver high-quality outputs.
Strong team player with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
Desirable
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and strong organisational ability.
Knowledge of statistics (advantageous).
