About The Team And The Role
This role supports employment law matters across the EMEA region, working closely with HR, Employee Relations, Compliance, and business leaders. The team focuses on delivering practical, risk-balanced legal guidance in a complex regulatory environment. The Employment Counsel will advise on a broad range of workforce issues, contribute to regional and global initiatives, and help enable compliant and effective people practices across multiple jurisdictions.
What You Will Accomplish
Provide clear, practical employment law advice to HR and business leaders across multiple EMEA jurisdictions
Enable informed decision-making on employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, terminations, and restructures
Support complex workforce changes such as reorganizations, reductions in force, and cross-border mobility
Ensure alignment with regional employment regulations, including EU directives, local labor laws, and consultation requirements
Manage employment litigation and administrative claims, including coordination with external counsel and oversight of strategy and budgets
Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, Employee Relations, Compliance, global legal) to address overlapping regulatory and workforce issues
Lead or contribute to regional initiatives such as policy development, process improvements, compliance audits, and global employment programs
What You Will Bring
Qualification as a lawyer in at least one EMEA jurisdiction (Ireland or UK preferred)
7–12 years of employment law experience, including advising on multi-country matters; in-house experience in a multinational environment is valued
Strong knowledge of European employment law frameworks and regulatory requirements
Experience with works councils, employee representative bodies, and collective consultation processes
Ability to manage external counsel and oversee complex disputes and investigations
Strong judgment with the ability to translate legal concepts into practical business guidance
Ability to work across multiple jurisdictions in a fast-moving, global environment with strong stakeholder and organizational skills
