We are seeking an experienced
Procurement Lead to take ownership of our clients procurement and material readiness from drawing release through to workshop production.
Key Responsibilities
* Procure structural steel sections, plate and specialist items
* Negotiate pricing, lead times and delivery schedules
* Plan procurement in line with project and fabrication programmes
* Coordinate with drawing office, planning and production teams
* Manage deliveries to suit yard and workshop capacity
* Ensure material is checked, booked in, allocated and saw-ready
* Maintain certification and traceability to EN 1090 standards
Experience & Skills
* Proven experience buying steel within structural steel fabrication, stockholding or construction
* Strong knowledge of structural steel products and fabrication sequencing
* Excellent planning, organisation and supplier management skills
* Confident negotiator with strong commercial awareness
* Experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g. StruMIS, PowerFab, FabTrol or similar)
