We are seeking an experienced Procurement Lead to take ownership of our clients procurement and material readiness from drawing release through to workshop production.
Key Responsibilities Procure structural steel sections, plate and specialist items Negotiate pricing, lead times and delivery schedules Plan procurement in line with project and fabrication programmes Coordinate with drawing office, planning and production teams Manage deliveries to suit yard and workshop capacity Ensure material is checked, booked in, allocated and saw-ready Maintain certification and traceability to EN **** standards Experience & Skills Proven experience buying steel within structural steel fabrication, stockholding or construction Strong knowledge of structural steel products and fabrication sequencing Excellent planning, organisation and supplier management skills Confident negotiator with strong commercial awareness Experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g. StruMIS, PowerFab, FabTrol or similar) Personal Attributes Proactive, reliable and highly organised Strong communicator who takes ownership of material availability Skills: Steel Buyer Procurement
