Kenny-Whelan (a specialist division of the CPL group) is recruiting an Analytical Scientist for our client, a US Pharmaceutical company with sites across Ireland. This position is based at the Pharma plant in Dunboyne, on a 11-month initial contract, generally rolling.Job Title: Analytical Scientist - shift-based role, DunboyneReports To: Enabling Technology and Engineering GroupThe successful candidate will work closely with the Enabling Technology and Engineering group to leverage Process Automation knowledge and collaborate with the Analytical group to enable the adoption of Process Analytical Technology (PAT). The Microbiology Lab Operations group works closely with Operations to understand facility fit and will be able to flex resources as needed.This is a shift-based roleBring energy, knowledge, and innovation to carry out the following responsibilities:Drive laboratory operations within the new laboratory facility, including oversight of equipment qualification (PQ), documentation generation, SME review of SOPs and work instructions, and contributing to lab and process establishment.Review and lead trending and reporting of laboratory data to support batch release, maintain oversight of review metrics, and collate and analyze end-of-quarter and end-of-year reports for all raw data generated.Maintain and release laboratory stock, order laboratory consumables as required.Participate in functional meetings and lead departmental and cross-functional meetings when needed.Participate in internal and external audits and inspections, ensuring ongoing inspection readiness.Support and promote site safety and ways of working culture, demonstrating respect and appreciation for diverse populations.Perform supporting GMP activities and troubleshooting for general lab operations, EM, Facility testing, and execute in-process and drug substance analysis studies. Lead or participate in laboratory projects.Support the introduction of novel, innovative solutions by collaborating with the global Microbiology Center of Expertise and participating in lean lab methodologies.Organize and establish testing schedules and adhere to deadlines.Build team effectiveness skills, promote team success through actions, and support changing business needs, including infrequent out-of-hours testing support.Share knowledge through training other analysts and ensure timely training completion.Skills required:A degree in Biological Sciences, Engineering, or a related field; an MSc or higher is desirable.At least 3 years of relevant industry experience.Ability to work as part of a team and independently in a constructive manner.Technical knowledge of biologics drug substance manufacturing and microbiological testing techniques.Logical thinking and proactive under pressure.Effective communication skills.All applications will be treated with the strictest confidence.CVs should be sent to Elaine Cahill at ecahill@kenny-whelan.ie or via the link below.
