Job Title: Staff Grade Clinical Psychologist – CAMHS

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 35-hour week

We are currently recruiting a Staff Grade Clinical Psychologist to join a dynamic and highly supportive CAMHS team based in Carlow.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting young people and their families as they navigate moderate to severe mental health challenges. You will work alongside a well-respected Principal Psychologist who is deeply committed to professional development and team support
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adolescents presenting with complex mental health needs.
2. Formulate and deliver individualised, evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT-informed approaches, systemic and family interventions).
3. Engage in multidisciplinary case discussions and contribute psychological expertise to treatment planning.
4. Provide psychoeducation, therapeutic input, and support to families and carers.
5. Liaise and collaborate with external agencies including schools, GPs, and social care teams.
6. Maintain up-to-date and accurate clinical records in accordance with professional and legal standards.
7. Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and continuous professional development.
8. Contribute to the ongoing development of clinical services and service improvement initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria:
9. A recognised qualification at doctoral level (or equivalent) in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology.
10. PSI membership or eligibility for registration.
11. Candidates qualified overseas must provide evidence of validation by the Department of Health at the time of application.
12. Post qualification experience within CAMHS settings (Desirable)
13. Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and family systems.
14. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills.
