Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Driver to join our transportation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations across Ireland. The role requires adherence to road safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely operate and drive heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to transport goods to specified destinations.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition.
* Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
* Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is safely secured.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
* Comply with all driving regulations and safety standards.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries.
* Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Valid HGV driving license (Category C or C+E).
* Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in road haulage.
* Clean driving record.
* Proven experience as an HGV driver.
* Knowledge of road safety regulations.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Good physical condition and stamina for loading and unloading cargo.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
* Desirable: Experience with specific types of HGVs (e.g., articulated lorries). Familiarity with GPS devices and other navigation tools (Tacho).
Salary: €34,000 per annum, 39 hours per week
