DonegalProject:Large-scale Educational DevelopmentContractor:Tier 1 Main ContractorRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our project team on a major educational development in Letterkenny. Working for a Tier 1 main contractor, the successful candidate will play a key role in setting out, quality control, coordination with subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest standard.This is a site-based role offering exposure to a high-profile public-sector project with significant technical and coordination requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesSetting out and surveying works using GPS, Total Station, and traditional methodsManaging day-to-day engineering activities on site in line with drawings and specificationsEnsuring works comply with design, Irish Building Regulations, BCAR requirements, and project quality standardsReviewing drawings, specifications, and method statements; raising RFIs where requiredCoordinating with subcontractors, design teams, and site managementMaintaining accurate site records, as-built drawings, and quality documentationAssisting with inspections, snagging, and handover processesSupporting health & safety compliance in conjunction with the site management teamMonitoring progress against the programme and reporting issues proactivelyRequirementsDegree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related discipline2+ years' experience in a Site Engineer role (experience on educational or public-sector projects advantageous)Experience working with a main contractor on medium to large-scale projectsStrong setting-out and surveying skillsWorking knowledge of Irish construction regulations and standardsExcellent communication and coordination skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a wider project teamFull, clean driving licenceDesirableExperience working with Tier 1 contractorsFamiliarity with BCAR processes and documentationExperience on educational, healthcare, or other public works projectsWhat's on OfferOpportunity to work on a flagship educational project in DonegalEmployment with a leading Tier 1 contractorCompetitive salary and benefits packageLong-term career development and progression opportunities
