The Equipment and Controls Technician (E&C Tech) is based out of Kinder Morgan’s Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP) Eden, New York Compressor Station. This is a Monday through Friday position with some on-call responsibilities during nights and weekends. This opportunity is ideal for experienced Senior or Industrial Electricians, Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians (E&I Tech), Engineers, Electric Technicians, Instruments and Electric Techs, or similar roles. The successful candidate must reside within 20 miles of the Eden Station.
E&C Primary Purpose:
Implements and maintains electrical power circuits and equipment, control and automation systems, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pipeline, compressor stations, pump stations, plant operations, and measurement facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Install, inspect, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic equipment, along with completing all relevant documentation.
2. Perform preventive maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers, and auxiliary equipment.
3. Conduct Inspection and Maintenance (I&M) checks on all control systems.
4. Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
5. Ensure all work complies with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
6. Strive for operational excellence.
7. Mentor fellow employees when opportunities arise.
8. Maintain electrical switchgear and power distribution systems.
9. Perform advanced engine, compressor, and pump analytical testing and lead efforts to develop and implement changes based on testing results.
10. Assist corrosion and engineering personnel with the evaluation, development, implementation, and maintenance of facility grounding systems.
11. Install, analyze, and repair security and intrusion systems.
12. Maintain facilities and equipment as needed.
13. Oversee construction and maintenance activities performed by third parties.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
