DescriptionContract: Specified Purpose Hours: Full-Time Salary range: HSE Consolidated pay-scale 1st March 2025 Reporting to: The Dietitian Manager Closing Date: 31/05/2025 *** Full Job Description Attached *** Details of Clontarf Hospital Clontarf Hospital provides post-acute rehabilitation services to patients transferred from acute hospitals with a variety of conditions and rehabilitation needs including: post Covid, post elective and trauma orthopaedic surgery, frail older adults, post-acute medical conditions, multiple co-morbidities, post amputee, post neuro surgery and neurological conditions.
Purpose of the Post To work as an effective member of the Nutrition & Dietetic team and multidisciplinary teams, providing optimal clinical dietetic services to patients under the dietitian's care.
Flexibility is essential for this role.
Areas of work will include: Age Related RehabilitationGeneral RehabilitationOrthopaedic Rehabilitation (trauma and elective)Neurological & Neurosurgery RehabilitationDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: JOB OVERVIEW Professional/Clinical The Senior Dietitian will:
Participate in and promote the development of Nutrition & Dietetic Services in collaboration with hospital managementProvide evidence-based dietetic services that meet recognized standardsPrioritize and manage a clinical and non-clinical caseload, including covering colleagues during leaveWork according to relevant policies, guidelines, legislation, and standards to ensure high-quality service delivery respecting other health professionals' rolesMaintain professional conduct, competence, and standards, complying with statutory regulations in IrelandWork within own scope of practice, adhering to principles of best practice and clinical governanceManage workload, time, and resources effectivelyAssess nutritional status and requirements, devising and implementing care plans using the Nutrition Care Process Model (NCPM)Monitor and evaluate intervention outcomesContribute to planning, audit, policy development, quality improvement, education, and resource developmentConsult relevant personnel as neededLiaise with catering staff on menu development and therapeutic diets according to standardsProvide leadership through supervision, mentoring, and training of Staff Grade DietitiansRepresent the service in meetings, committees, and projectsParticipate in health promotion activitiesEngage in multidisciplinary team meetings, journal clubs, case conferences, tutorials, ward rounds, and educational sessions
