As Financial Controller, you will oversee the finance function of this rapidly expanding residential property developer, ensuring robust financial operations, reporting, and compliance. The role will have ownership of the finance function and report to the CFO.
Financial Operations & Controls
· Oversee all core finance functions including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, job costing, cash flow forecasting, revenue billing, and revenue recognition.
· Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes across all group entities.
Reporting & Analysis
· Partner with the commercial and project teams to track and report on actual versus budget costs by project.
· Prepare monthly management accounts for each group entity (currently 10 entities).
· Prepare consolidated monthly accounts for the group.
· Deliver timely, accurate board reporting packs, including variance analysis and commentary.
Cash & Capital Management
· Monitor working capital
· Contribute (along with the FP&A Manager and CFO) to group-wide cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
Audit, Governance & Compliance
· Serve as the main liaison for external auditors and tax advisors; coordinate audit preparation and own the year-end financial reporting process.
Systems, Processes & Improvement
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance reporting accuracy.
Requirements
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Proven head of function experience (FC or Group FC level) in group-level financial control and reporting.
• Taxation qualification preferred (CTA, CTC).
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with job costing systems.
