Health and Safety Manager
based in
Limerick
.
The company operates multiple large-scale manufacturing facilities across Ireland and has a long history of excellence in producing high-quality materials to national and international standards. It uses advanced, energy-efficient technology to deliver reliable products and sustainable performance.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for:
* Driving awareness, engagement, and improvement across the business in all areas of Health, Safety, and Welfare.
* Keeping the company informed of relevant developments in Health and Safety legislation, guidelines, and standards.
* Monitoring adherence to safety policy through regular safety audits and hazard inspections.
* Advising senior management on actions required to reduce occupational risk.
* Maintaining site safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Developing accident reduction and prevention programmes.
* Creating and implementing annual site safety initiatives.
* Investigating incidents and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
* Coordinating statutory inspections and maintaining related documentation.
* Organising and delivering safety presentations, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
* Managing and improving induction programmes for contractors, employees, and visitors.
* Continuously reviewing and updating Health & Safety Policies and Statements.
* Liaising with external regulatory bodies on health and safety matters.
* Promoting a strong culture of engagement and consultation around safety across the site.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach, strong initiative, and the ability to take ownership of projects from start to completion.
* Degree-level qualification with a diploma or equivalent in Health and Safety.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar H&S management role, ideally within the construction materials, quarrying, or heavy industrial sector.
* Strong understanding of industrial processes and systems.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Strong IT proficiency.
* Experience in ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
* Proven leadership and management skills to achieve business objectives while maintaining a safe working environment.
