Sustainability Data Engineer and Scientist (Grade VII) (Specified Purpose Wholetime) (Reference: 379/2025) The Sustainability Data Engineer and Scientist will play a key role inestablishing TU Dublins Sustainability Performance and Reporting System, which will provideorganisationalintelligence and reporting across a range of academic and operational activities.
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability Intelligence andworking as a member of the wider Sustainability Team, the Sustainability Data Engineer and Scientisthasresponsibility for collecting, treating, andanalysingdata of evidence of key sustainability indicators todeterminetheir effectiveness,trackand measure progress towards Universityobjectives.
The Sustainability Data Engineer and Scientist will: ?
Develop andmaintaindata architectures using technology services such as AWS and Azure for the development of web applications with dashboards for tracking and reporting sustainability performance indicators against
(i) sectoral sustainability frameworks including Climate Action Plans and Roadmaps, and AASHE Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS),
(ii) regulatory compliancereporting (e.g. to the University Executive Teams, Governing Body, HEA, SEAI) and
(iii) the university strategic action plans.

Collect,analyse, verify,consolidateand benchmark data from a variety of sources that are internal and external to the University.
The range of data toanalyseinclude operational (e.g. energy, buildings, water, food, waste, and transport), education and research (e.g. curricula, research papers), engagement (e.g. training, CPD, civic and community engagements), planning and administration (e.g. EDI, finance, health and safety) activities of the university.

Structure, integrate andmaintainsustainability data repositories, transform data, and develop analytical methodologies and computational models to process raw data into user-centric and auditable knowledge reportsprovidingintelligent insights.

Contribute tomaintaining,developingandoperating Sustainability AI models (in particular sustainabilitylanguage models).

Ensure ethical and data compliances (e.g. GDPR compliance).
?
Assess University sustainability impacts and provide relevant reports for the development and implementation of sustainability performance monitoring and local action planning.

Assist with the maintenance of functional area programming and systems by providing consultation, serving to support staff when needed, and contributing to operations as assigned.
Hours of Work:?
A 35-hour working week is in operation Location: Thepost will be based at TU Dublin Grangegorman, Campus.
Regular attendance at other sites will berequired.
Salary:?
The successful candidate will be appointed at point (01) of the Administrative Officer (Grade VII) Salary Scalei.e.
€ 59,417 gross per Annum.
Appointmentswill be made at theappropriate pointon theappropriatescale.
