The Environmental Consultant role is within the Environmental team in Ireland, focusing on delivering impact assessments for projects at all levels, including major national infrastructure (transport, water, industrial and energy sectors) and urban development projects. Clients include private developers, public sector authorities and other organisations.
Responsibilities
Manage environmental impact assessment projects, overseeing the assessment process and technical teams, and reviewing all technical inputs.
Prepare environmental reports such as EIA screening reports, scoping reports, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, and Strategic Environmental Assessments.
Review topic reports and inputs for compliance with EIA legislation and project details.
Conduct project management activities, including programming and budget control.
Interface with and lead multi‑disciplinary project teams.
Communicate and liaise with clients.
Provide advice on environmental mitigation and enhancement measures.
Engage and negotiate with stakeholders as part of the environmental impact assessment process.
Undertake project reviews.
Assist the impact assessment team with business development and marketing.
Prepare bids and presentations.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of environmental legislation with experience applying relevant legislation, policy and guidance to impact assessment for a range of project types.
Proven ability to project‑manage environmental projects, successfully managing teams of technical specialists and multi‑disciplinary teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong report‑writing ability.
Analytical skills with a focus on finding solutions to technical and project‑management issues.
Capacity to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Self‑motivation and ability to work independently.
