Safeguarding Officer

Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client, a leading mental health provider, is seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join their Social Work Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to take on a senior leadership role in safeguarding within a progressive mental health setting.
This is a full-time position.
The successful candidate will also hold a part-time clinical caseload, providing senior-level social work support to patients and families.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Social Work and accountable to the Chief Executive, the Safeguarding Officer will:
Lead the implementation and oversight of hospital safeguarding policies and procedures
Act as Designated Liaison Person/Designated Officer for safeguarding matters
Provide expert advice and support to multidisciplinary teams
Review safeguarding concerns and support the development of safety plans
Conduct preliminary screenings and safeguarding audits
Monitor and report safeguarding trends to management and relevant committees
Deliver safeguarding training at induction and ongoing staff development
Promote a positive, inclusive safeguarding culture across the organisation
Essential Criteria:
Professionally qualified Social Worker registered with CORU
Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification Social Work experience
Strong working knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy, and best practice
Experience in adult safeguarding and child protection, including managing allegations and serious incidents
Experience working in adult mental health services
Experience working in acute, hospital settings
