Key Responsibilities are not limited to but will include:
Strong understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards, e.g., ISO45001, OSHA, local regulations for ROI & NI.Play a key role in maintaining, continuously improving, and promoting a strong EHS culture and management systems across all sites in Ireland.Collaborate with the Regulatory & Compliance team to achieve relevant accreditation at all sites and assist during external audits.Liaise with regulators and third parties regarding inspections and incidents.Support the Quality and Compliance Manager in developing and implementing effective EHS policies and procedures.Maintain EHS training needs analysis, organize and conduct training programs, and keep accurate records.Develop, review, and update EHS procedures, ensuring alignment with current regulations and practices, and communicate updates effectively.Ensure all risk assessments are current, maintain Site Risk Assessment Matrix, and implement SOPs.Assist in incident investigations by gathering data, identifying root causes, analyzing trends, and developing corrective actions.Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and promote continuous improvement.Monitor and report on EHS KPIs regularly, providing management with accurate data.Coach management and employees on compliance, incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety inspections.Assist in developing and testing site-specific Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plans.Develop and maintain occupational health, safety, and environmental documentation, policies, and data.Collaborate with HR to promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with standards and permits.Interpret and apply legislation, industry best practices, and corporate policies.Lead in-house health and safety training and oversee onboarding from a safety perspective.Develop and manage an annual H&S plan, ensuring continuous progress.Identify training gaps and coordinate with HR on H&S and CPD training needs.Oversee H&S compliance with EU GDPR requirements.Review legislation to ensure full compliance and minimize risks and injuries across Ireland.Liaise with regulatory authorities (HSA, HSE, etc.)
as needed.Complete customer questionnaires as required.Contribute to organizational projects and initiatives.Perform ad-hoc duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility.Ensure compliance with risk-based policies, including IT Security, H&S.You will also be responsible for developing programs with HR and Senior Management that promote and embed the company culture, focusing on safeguarding mental health and overall wellbeing.
These programs should support the broader EHS strategy and foster a supportive, open, and safe environment where employees can suggest improvements or raise concerns, with a rewards & recognition program for such suggestions.
While overseeing coordination of EHS activities for compliance, specific responsibilities will be delegated to site teams to promote engagement and accountability throughout the organization.
