These systems provide a robust foundation for patient-centred, data-driven care.The Application Support role is a specialist post within the Informatics Model of Support. The post holder will provide dedicated support to the Configuration Lead in the ongoing build, configuration, and optimisation of Orbis, IPM and related digital systems. This includes assisting with workflow configuration, system build tasks, issue resolution, and liaising with users and vendors.This role is essential to ensure the configuration of Orbis systems meets hospital operational and clinical requirements and that digital solutions are effectively implemented and supported across Beaumont Hospital.Job PurposeTo provide specialist support for the configuration, build, and ongoing optimisation of software applications, working in close collaboration with the Configuration Leads. The post holder will:Assist in system configuration and build tasks to meet operational and clinical requirements.Support the resolution of configuration and build issues, liaising with users and vendors as required.Maintain accurate records of issues, changes, and system updates.Collaborate closely with the Configuration Lead and wider support teams to ensure effective system performance.Key Working RelationshipsConfiguration LeadOperational and Lead Support StaffProject Manager and Clinical LeadICT and Technical TeamsClinical and operational end users across Beaumont HospitalResponsibilities:Main Duties and Responsibilities:Configuration and Build SupportAssist the Configuration Lead in implementing system configuration changes to workflows and functionality.Support ongoing build activities to enhance digital solutions for clinical and operational use.Validate configuration changes to ensure they meet user requirements and hospital standards.Problem Solving and Issue ManagementWork with users to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve configuration-related issues.Liaise with vendors when advanced technical problems require escalation.Log all issues and changes, maintaining accurate and detailed records of resolutions.Collaboration and LiaisonAct as a key contact between the Configuration Lead and other support staff to ensure smooth system operations.Collaborate with Operational Support Staff and other tiers to maintain system continuity.Support hospital-wide engagement by helping staff understand configuration changes and system enhancements.Ensure data generated from configured workflows is accurate, consistent, and accessible to staff.Support the Configuration Lead in monitoring system performance and identifying areas for improvement.User Support and Training AssistanceProvide guidance to staff on the effective use of software applications within configured workflows.Support trainers by providing system knowledge and configuration context during training sessions.Encourage adoption of best practices and consistent use of digital solutions across hospital departments.The job description is an outline of the post as it is currently perceived by the hospital and will be subject to review and amendment. Candidates should have obtained at least Grade Con higher level papers in three subjects in that examination.Or(iii) Have completed a relevant examination at a comparable standard in any equivalentexamination in another jurisdictionOr(iv) Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on theNational Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland,(QQI).Note1Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher level papers.
