Lead Electrical Engineer (Cork)
Position SummaryNeoDyne is on the lookout for a talented and driven Lead Electrical Engineer to join our growing Power Generation & Energy Systems team. This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on cutting‑edge projects, guiding a team of 2-3 design engineers in delivering high-availability, high-reliability turnkey plant and control solutions. Projects will include large-scale systems including CCGT plants, industrial CHP (with island mode capability), and critical standby diesel generation. Whether you're an experienced leader or an ambitious engineer ready to step into your first leadership role, this position offers a clear pathway to grow, influence, and make a real impact. Projects include: High‑Efficiency centralised power plants in hyperscale data centres; Large‑scale flexible peaking plants providing grid support when renewables are not available; Embedded renewables; National Utility projects to meet ambitious sustainability targets. With a team of 220+ skilled engineers, our expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, from design and implementation to commissioning and operations. From our offices in Ireland, the UK, Romania, and the US, we operate on a global scale, combining technical expertise with local delivery. We support customers across Europe, North America, and Asia, delivering tailored engineering services that drive long-term success.
Key Responsibilities

Developing detailed schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
Producing drawings, wiring schematics, lists and data sheets using AutoCAD and EPLAN.
Designing electrical control systems and instrumentation for power generation and energy systems.
Overseeing the installation of control systems and instrumentation equipment.
Collaborating with technicians and contractors to ensure proper implementation.
Undertaking Factory and Site Acceptance Testing.
Commissioning activities in the field.
Mentoring Graduate & Junior Engineers.

Experience & Skills

Level 8 Degree in Electrical, Energy Engineering, or equivalent.
4-5 years' experience in electrical engineering.
Experience using: AutoCAD and EPLAN or similar software.
Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring.

Desired
Experience with Peaking, CCGT, CHP Plants or Embedded Renewables would be highly desirable but not essential as we will provide full training.
