AtkinsRéalis, one of the world’s leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland, is seeking a senior roads design engineer with extensive relevant planning and design experience. The successful candidate will join our growing Highways and Transportation business and will be based in our Cork office. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, hard-working, flexible, responsible, team-oriented, and capable of supervising junior staff.
The role involves planning and designing road, rail, public transport, and active travel projects throughout Ireland, contributing to statutory processes (EIAR, CPO, etc.), preparing contract documents, administering contracts, and supervising construction.
Minimum Requirements:
* Extensive relevant experience in a consultancy environment.
* Degree in engineering (Level 8/9).
* Chartered Engineer or expecting to become Chartered within 12 months.
* Proficient with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads).
* Knowledge of relevant design standards (TII / NTA, etc.) and ability to apply them practically.
* Experience in design and build projects.
* Experience in developing road schemes in Ireland, including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, procurement, contract documentation, contract administration, and construction supervision.
* Full Irish / EU driving license.
