NRG Health & Fitness (Galway) – General Manager
Location: NRG Knocknacarra, Galway Job Type: Full-time | On-site Salary: (OTE & DOE)
NRG Health & Fitness, Ireland's leading health and fitness provider for over 20 years, is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead the team at NRG Xpress Cork.
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day operations of the club.
You will ensure a safe, efficient, and customer‑focused environment while driving performance across membership, fitness services, and team development.
Responsibilities
Take full ownership of the daily operations of NRG Knocknacarra.
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.
Provide strong leadership and be a role model for professionalism and exceptional customer service.
Effectively handle member and guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints.
Manage club inventory, ordering, and budget control.
Oversee cash handling and PCI compliance.
Set and deliver on sales and membership growth targets.
Collaborate with company directors on marketing strategies.
Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and shared accountability.
Recruit, train, and manage staff schedules and performance in line with business needs.
Deliver a selection of fitness classes and maintain a visible presence on the gym floor.
Oversee specialist operational areas including Health & Safety, Audit Readiness, Maintenance, Administration, and Training.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven general management or senior leadership experience in a fitness or leisure environment.
Recognised Fitness Instructor qualification (NCEF, ITEC, NCEHS, or equivalent).
Experience in leading and teaching fitness classes & personal training.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and leisure CRM/membership platforms (e.g.
Gym Sales, Perfect Gym).
Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
