Job Title: Financial Accounting Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accounting Specialist to join our team. This is a contract role that will commence at the beginning of January for 3 months, with the possibility of extending beyond this.
This position may suit someone who has recently finished in a similar role and is keen to secure short-term employment, with a view to taking time off to travel or someone who has worked in an accounting firm and is looking to gain varied hands-on accounting experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a professional accountancy firm or in an insurance environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the financial accounting process including bank reconciliations, posting of insurance transactions, reconciliation of monthly Bordereaux, and preparation and delivery of monthly Management Accounts.
Requirements
* Part or fully qualified with relevant practical experience in industry or practice
* Experience of managing the General Ledger process
* Ability to liaise with third parties such as auditors and brokers
* Experience of computerised accounting packages, especially Sage
* Strong numerical and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail
* Ambitious and able to work on own initiative
* Excellent Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
* Versatile team player - flexible, pragmatic, thorough, pro-active
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a bright and positive outlook
