Purpose of the Role:The purpose of this post is to provide a safe, efficient, quality Blood Transfusion service in conjunction with the Chief Medical Scientist, to satisfy the needs and requirements of service users and in in compliance with the requirements of international standard ISO15189.Essential Criteria:Candidates must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the post, possess:Bachelor in Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) from the Technological University of Dublin / Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street;orBachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint UniversityCollege Cork - Cork Institute of Technology course;orDiploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology,Kevin Street or the Cork Institute of Technology awarded prior to 1994;orPossess Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute ofTechnology, Kevin Street or Cork Institute of Technology or the Galway/Mayo Institute ofTechnology (awarded prior to 1997)orBachelor in Science degree with Honours for Biomedical science (which is recognized as a Health & Care Professions Council, UK (HCPC) approved)orA recognised qualification at least equivalent to (A) - (E) above;AndBe registered with CORU or be eligible for registrationOrBe currently registered with HCPC as a Biomedical ScientistHow to Apply and Informal Enquiries:Applications will not be accepted through direct email or any other method.The closing date for submissions of CV's and cover letter is Thursday 19th February 2026 at 11.45pm.
