Parker Stewart is working exclusively with a leading equipment company who is urgently seeking an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer for a field service role.
Job Responsibilities:
* Maintain and repair heavy plant machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, providing effective solutions to complex engineering issues.
* Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment to identify and address potential problems.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve maintenance schedules and practices.
* Document all maintenance and repair work completed, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
* Stay updated with the latest technologies and advancements in heavy plant engineering.
* Assist in the training and mentorship of junior engineers and technicians.
* Adhere to safety standards and protocols to promote a safe working environment.
Essential Qualifications:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Formal training or certification in heavy machinery or plant equipment maintenance preferred.
* Strong understanding of engineering principles and mechanical systems.
* Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting issues.
Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years experience in heavy plant engineering or a similar technical role.
* Experience in maintaining various types of heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, and cranes.
* Proven track record in improving equipment efficiency and reducing downtime through effective maintenance practices.
* Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards regarding heavy equipment operation.
