Position Overview
We are seeking an Associate Safety & Environmental Specialist (Industrial Hygiene) for a permanent contract, offering exposure to work in top pharmaceutical client sites across diverse cultural settings.
Responsibilities
Preparation of IH procedures and related documents.
Completion of IH monitoring as per program requirements.
Provision of guidance to site on all aspects of IH management.
Troubleshooting and resolution of IH issues.
Preparation of Industrial Hygiene training materials and delivery of training.
PPE selection and approval as per program requirements.
Implementation of EHS programmes to ensure compliance with local legislation, company standards, and industry best practices.
Completion of required risk assessments and incident investigations.
Participation in EHS audits and inspections and support of external audits undertaken by regulatory agencies or corporate.
Liaison with regulatory authorities and corporate stakeholders as required.
Preparation of reports as required for site, corporate or regulatory agencies.
Completion of corporate program assessments.
Close out of CAPAs as per agreed timelines and scope.
Analyze and inspect work environments and procedures to ensure adherence to regulations on safety, health, and the environment; design programs to prevent disease or injury to workers and harm to the environment.
Collaborate with management to institute controls and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
Conduct safety training and education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
Coordinate “right‑to‑know” programs regarding hazardous chemicals and other substances. Position will receive direction and support.
Skills and Education
Science, Chemical or Engineering related degree.
Diploma or MSc in Occupational Health and Safety.
Specialist IH or equivalent IH qualification approved by the Faculty of the British Occupational Hygiene Society.
Experience handling potent APIs and hazardous chemicals.
Containment equipment selection and validation.
Experience supporting multiple activities/projects.
