Our Public Sector client is currently recruiting for an M&E Senior Project Manager to join their Capital & Estates Department in Sligo. The successful candidate will oversee minor and major capital works within the region, tendering projects, managing contractors, managing design teams and communicating with the various stakeholders.
This is an initial 1-year contract role which offers great scope for extension and future permanency.

Responsibilities
9. Ensure electrical systems comply with legislation, standards, and statutory obligations, focusing on safety and reliability.
10. Prepare designs and specifications for electrical systems to support the operational and strategic needs of healthcare facilities.
11. Develop commissioning and testing procedures for new electrical infrastructure and upgrades.
12. Lead and manage electrical projects, including design, construction, and commissioning phases.
13. Oversee project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
14. Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and HSE stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of projects.
15. Manage procurement processes for design services, professional expertise, and contractor engagement.
16. Contribute to the development and implementation of business continuity plans and energy management programs.
17. Drive sustainability initiatives, including ISO 50001 compliance and energy consumption optimization.
18. Liaise with internal teams, including estates, facilities, and project management personnel, as well as external regulatory bodies and service providers.
19. Provide technical guidance and regular reports to senior management on electrical system performance and future requirements.
20. Collaborate with facilities and maintenance teams to ensure electrical systems are integrated into the CMMS.
21. Support the Quality & Risk departments during audits and ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards.
22. Supervise contractors and maintenance personnel for adherence to project and safety protocols.
23. Ensure proper handover of new infrastructure and facilitate staff training where required.
Qualifications:
24. Bachelor's degree (level 8) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
25. Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering, ideally within a consultancy. Ideally across healthcare projects.
26. Demonstrated expertise in managing capital projects, budgets, and cross-disciplinary teams.
27. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
28. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
29. Stamp 4 / EU Passport is required for this role.
