About the Role:

The SHEQ Officer plays a crucial part in creating a culture of safety, health, and environmental excellence within our organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and make a significant impact on our SHEQ performance. As a SHEQ Officer, you will collaborate with various departments to identify potential hazards, risks, and environmental impacts, and report on internal systems and recommend appropriate control measures.

You will conduct regular safety inspections, environmental assessments & audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards, and provide training to employees, contractors, and visitors. Additionally, you will investigate accidents, incidents, and quality issues, and develop and implement corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Identify potential hazards, risks, and environmental impacts in the workplace
* Conduct regular safety inspections, environmental assessments & audits
* Provide training to employees, contractors, and visitors
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and quality issues
* Develop and implement corrective actions
* Monitor workplace conditions to prevent occupational health issues and promote employee well-being
* Ensure compliance with local, regional regulations
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address SHEQ concerns
* Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills as needed
* Promote a culture of SHEQ excellence throughout the organisation

About You:

We are looking for someone with a strong background in occupational health and safety or environmental, preferably through hands-on work experience or academic qualifications. You should have excellent analytical skills to identify hazards, risks, and improvement opportunities, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills to train employees and collaborate across departments.

Requirements:

* Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental
* Proven experience as a EHS Officer or in a similar role, preferably in a high-risk industry
* Strong analytical skills to identify hazards, risks, and improvement opportunities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train employees and collaborate across departments
* Detail-oriented with strong organisational and documentation skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
