About Bluedrop Medical
Bluedrop Medical is a fast-growing medtech company developing sensor-based technology to prevent diabetic foot ulcers—a leading cause of amputation worldwide. Our advanced imaging and sensor platform enables earlier detection of complications, supporting clinicians in delivering better outcomes for patients.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electronic Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and scaling of our next-generation medical devices. This role will span electronic design, embedded systems development, and support for product industrialization, including smooth integration into manufacturing environments.
You’ll work across the full product lifecycle—from concept through to production—bringing technical expertise in hardware design while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, manufacturable solutions. Experience in medical or regulated environments is highly desirable, as is an understanding of imaging or sensor-based systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and development of embedded electronic systems in line with product and regulatory requirements.
* Drive hardware architecture decisions, component selection, and circuit design (analog and digital).
* Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI), including design transfer and collaboration with manufacturing partners.
* Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure technical requirements and quality standards are met.
* Participate in design reviews, risk analysis (e.g., FMEA), and verification/validation activities.
* Support process development and test strategy definition to ensure robustness and quality at scale.
* Create and maintain documentation for design history, regulatory submissions, and production readiness.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development and production phases of the product lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
* 7+ years of experience in hardware design and product development, preferably in a regulated industry.
* Strong knowledge of embedded systems, sensor integration, and both digital and analog circuit design.
* Experience with electronics design tools (e.g., Altium Designer) and lab test/measurement equipment.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, including system-level debugging and root cause analysis.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Skills
* Familiarity with imaging systems; experience integrating camera modules is a plus.
* Experience working within ISO 13485 or other regulated frameworks.
* Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles.
* Exposure to embedded firmware or scripting (e.g., Python) is advantageous.
* Background in supporting NPI and scaling products to production is beneficial.
What We Offer
* A mission-driven company committed to improving lives through innovative medical technology.
* A collaborative, flexible work environment in a dynamic medtech startup.
* Opportunities for career growth, ownership, and cross-functional impact.
* Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
