Someone who wants to build and scale products from scratch, ship fast, and lead high-performing engineering teams across multiple countries.You’ll partner directly with Product, Data, and Operations teams to define and lead the roadmap, ensuring we deliver scalable, secure, and high-impact credit features.We operate in a high-performance environment where ownership, speed, and impact are expected and rewarded. Let's get in touch.What You'll Be DoingLeading engineering for our credit vertical (loans, BNPL, credit cards), owning end-to-end delivery from architecture to productionOwning the product and solution architecture with a key focus on quality control and code optimisationManaging and scaling distributed engineering teams across multiple locationsPartnering closely with Product, Data, and Operations to define a high-impact roadmap and ship value fastDriving technical excellence, performance, scalability, and reliability across all systemsInfluencing best practices and helping to ensure these are consistently followed across the companyOptimising and reviewing the performance of teams, with an aim to increase the quality of engineering as a functional leaderBuilding new products from scratch, while evolving and optimising existing platformsAttracting, retaining, and developing top engineering talent, setting a high bar and leading by exampleMaking data-driven decisions, balancing speed and quality, always pushing for efficiencyCreating clarity in ambiguous environments and aligning tech efforts with business goalsWhat You'll NeedExperience leading and scaling engineering teams, preferably in fintech or high-growth tech companiesDeep technical background, ideally hands-on experience with backend systems, microservices, and distributed architecturesAn ownership mindset to take full responsibility for delivery, quality, and team performanceExpertise designing and owning product and solution architecture, with a keen eye for code quality and optimisationA track record of building products from scratch and scaling them for millions of usersExpertise in data-driven decision-making and using metrics to drive engineering excellenceExceptional leadership skills to inspire, develop, and retain high-performing engineering teamsExperience collaborating closely with product managers, data scientists, and operations teamsTo be comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with tight deadlines and shifting prioritiesExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence across teams and levels of seniorityNice to haveExperience in credit products, lending platforms, or BNPL servicesA background working in a global, distributed engineering organisationFamiliarity with modern fintech compliance, security, and risk frameworksExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure as codeKnowledge of machine learning applications in credit scoring or fraud detectionExperience hiring and managing remote teams across multiple time zonesA passion for fintech innovation and a solid understanding of emerging financial technologiesBuilding a global financial super app isn’t enough.
