Role Overview
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade advanced automation equipment at customer sites. You will be the technical expert, supporting clients directly and ensuring their systems operate flawlessly. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong problem‑solving skills and a focus on customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, and troubleshoot complex automation and precision mechanical systems.
* Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams.
* Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades to minimize equipment downtime.
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to validate and test new systems.
* Execute preventive maintenance programs and advise on best practices.
* Develop and refine service documentation, including manuals and troubleshooting guides.
* Work with sales and service teams to identify opportunities for service upgrades and contracts.
* Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
* Participate in on‑call support rotations to address urgent customer needs.
* Travel across Ireland and internationally to support installations and service operations.
Qualifications & Experience
* Level 7 qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related).
* 5+ years of experience in field service, maintenance, or equipment support in a regulated industry.
* Strong expertise in mechanical, electrical, motion control, and automation systems.
* Experience with PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and industrial machine troubleshooting preferred.
* Ability to read, interpret, and create technical documentation and schematics.
* Excellent communication and customer‑focused problem‑solving skills.
* Willingness to travel frequently.
* Full driving licence required.
