We are seeking an experienced construction site foreman to join our team in Roscommon.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with the company safety statement.
Enforce and maintain HSQE management systems on-site.
Oversee and control health & safety performance, including subcontractor compliance.
Ensure tasks are planned and executed safely at all times.
Support preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Deliver toolbox talks, Safe Plan of Action (SPA) briefings, and inductions.
Confirm that all operatives are inducted and signed onto RAMS, SPAs, and permits as required.
Carry out and record regular HSQE inspections.
Quality
Review project drawings, specifications, and requirements, ensuring site compliance.
Monitor workmanship standards, address defects immediately, and secure client sign-off upon completion.
Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where necessary and share lessons learned.
Environment
Ensure Waste Management Permits are in place and properly followed.
Monitor works to prevent adverse impacts on the surrounding environment.
Planning & Coordination
Direct and supervise site labor, subcontractors, plant, and equipment.
Contribute to short-term and lookahead programs, ensuring milestones are achieved.
Understand budget allowances and resource outputs, optimizing productivity.
Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and project teams.
Support the training and development of junior staff.
Documentation & Reporting
Ensure all required documentation (RAMS, SPA's, permits, etc.) is prepared before works begin.
Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, plant and labor returns.
Attend internal site meetings, reporting on progress to the Site Agent/Project Manager.
Close out actions raised during HSQE inspections.
Commercial Awareness
Monitor site costs, labor outputs, and material usage.
Be aware of program deadlines and the financial impact of delays or overruns.
Track and report all variations, delays, or change orders promptly.
People Management
Lead and coordinate daily site activities.
Foster clear communication between workers, supervisors, and stakeholders.
Address site issues quickly to minimize disruption.
Resolve conflicts and maintain a productive work environment.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years' construction site experience on similar projects in Ireland or the UK.
Proven commitment to Health, Safety, Quality, and Cost management.
Completion of Site Safety Supervisor Programme (or equivalent).
Full, clean driving license.
Excellent spoken and written English.
Ability to lead teams effectively and manage multiple priorities.
