An established e-money institution with a significant presence across the UK and Ireland is hiring a Head of Compliance to lead its compliance and financial crime function for Ireland & Europe. You would be the PCF12 & 52 in a well-run, growing business that takes its regulatory obligations seriously, without losing sight of commercial reality. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll own the firm’s relationship with the Central Bank of Ireland and act as an independent voice to the leadership team, enabling sustainable, consistent growth whilst maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The firm is collaborative and non-hierarchical, with a culture that values pragmatic, proportionate thinking over bureaucracy. This is the right environment for a compliance professional who wants real autonomy, real influence, and a seat at the table. What you’ll be doingHold the PCF-15 (Head of Compliance) and PCF-52 (MLRO) designations, with full accountability for the firm’s compliance and AML/CFT programme.Lead all CBI supervisory engagements — inspections, REP submissions, CP responses and ongoing relationship management.Own the AML/CFT framework: policies, CDD, transaction monitoring, SAR management, sanctions screening and the annual ML/TF risk assessment.Design and operate a risk-based compliance monitoring programme that gives the Board genuine assurance, proportionate to the firm’s size and risk profile.Advise on new products, distribution partnerships and business changes — finding the compliant path, not just flagging barriers.Deliver clear, insight-driven compliance reports to the ARC and Board; maintain the firm’s data protection compliance programme.Build compliance capability across the business through training, guidance and partnership with first-line teams. What we’re looking forStrong payments, e-money, or fintech exposure — prepaid card-issuing experience highly valued.Prior PCF or equivalent senior compliance designation, with direct responsibility for an AML/CFT programme and CBI supervisory relationship.Deep knowledge of the CBI regulatory framework: EMR, PSR, PSD2, AML Acts, Fitness & Probity, Consumer Protection Code, DORA and Outsourcing guidance.Sound regulatory judgement — you form defensible views in grey areas and don’t default to the most conservative read or unnecessary escalation.Commercially minded and collaborative — colleagues see you as an enabler, not a compliance function to route around.Professional compliance qualification required (ICA, ACAMS, CISI or equivalent). Why this roleExciting growth, with strong positive growth in financial & personnel.Excellent culture, with a well-established local brand & exciting expansion plans across EuropeHybrid working, strong benefits including private medical, pension, 23 days’ leave plus birthday day off.If you're interested in hearing more, please contact Kevin in Broadgate to have a confidential chat.
