Pre‑Construction Bid Writer
. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in securing new projects by preparing high‑quality, persuasive bid submissions and pre‑qualification documents. The position requires a solid understanding of construction methodologies, exceptional written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, project managers and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce, edit and tailor high‑quality bid and tender responses (including PQQs) that meet client requirements and evaluation criteria.
* Showcase the organisation's capability and methodology through clear, compelling written content, including construction methodologies, programme narratives and logistics plans.
* Coordinate with subject matter experts to develop programmes, technical documentation and logistics plans; attend site visits to inform submissions.
* Prepare site‑specific technical submissions for both public and private tenders, ensuring accuracy, compliance and effective risk management.
* Contribute to risk assessments, buildability reviews and value engineering proposals.
* Identify opportunities to improve bid processes and help develop the overall bid management function.
* Assist with clarifications, interviews, presentations and other post‑submission activities as required.
Key Skills
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams; exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* In‑depth knowledge of tendering, contract administration and public procurement frameworks; adept at developing tender documentation and project execution plans.
* Skilled in conducting design reviews, managing technical aspects efficiently and producing comprehensive technical documentation.
* Deadline‑driven and capable of multitasking, with strong time‑management and prioritisation abilities.
* Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related discipline preferred; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling tools such as MS Project or Asta; familiar with digital bid management tools and content libraries.
