Our client is Ireland's leading insurer for the public sector and the country's only indigenous mutual insurer. They safeguard the interests of their members, which include local authorities, education and training boards, and different public sector bodies. They are now seeking a Risk Advisor to join their team and help protect and support these members through expert guidance and advice.
About Your New Job
* As Risk Advisor, you will deliver expert guidance to support informed decision-making by identifying potential risks, advising on exposures, and recommending effective mitigation strategies.
* You will design and maintain practical, evidence-based tools such as step-by-step guides, advisory documents, and frameworks to strengthen risk management practices.
* You will represent both the organisation and its members in national forums and industry bodies, clearly articulating client interests and driving continuous improvement in risk outcomes.
* As Risk Advisor, you will ensure risk management activities align with strategic goals, you will contribute to internal audits, compliance reviews, and the collection and analysis of risk-related data to inform reporting, support executive decision-making, and drive accountability.
What Skills You Need
* Relevant experience in Risk and Compliance, Information Security, Risk Advisory and Risk Governance.
* Familiarity with regulatory risk requirements and relevant standards (e.g., ISO 31000, COSO, public sector risk guidelines).
* Experience working in or with public sector, local government, or not-for-profit organisations is highly advantageous.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience producing risk assessments, impact analyses, or mitigation strategies.
