There is one permanent vacancy at present. Initial assignment will be to Galway University Hospital. The successful candidate may be required to work in any service area within the vicinity as the need arises. A panel may be formed for Galway University Hospital from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Depending on specialty chosen, candidates must:
1. Medical: Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in relation to nursing practice within Medical nursing as relevant to the role.
2. Surgical: Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in relation to nursing practice within Surgical nursing as relevant to the role.
3. Cancer Services: Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in relation to nursing practice within Cancer Services (comprises Haematology, Oncology, Radiotherapy, Lung Cancer, Palliative Care) as relevant to the role.
4. Emergency: Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in relation to nursing practice within Emergency nursing as relevant to the role.
5. Critical Care: Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in relation to nursing practice within Critical Care nursing as relevant to the role.
