Job Description
An esteemed social care provider seeks an experienced and passionate leader to oversee the launch of a brand-new residential service for adults with intellectual disabilities. This is a full-time, permanent leadership role that offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to shape a new community from the ground up.
The new residential setting will offer a blend of residential life-sharing, day programmes, and tailored support for adults with varying needs, all within a supportive community environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily operations and long-term service development;
* Maintain HIQA compliance and strong safeguarding procedures;
* Supervise and support team leads and frontline staff;
* Regularly report to the Senior Management Team;
* Ensure delivery of high-quality residential and day services;
* Lead risk management, safeguarding, and health & safety systems;
* Oversee person-centred support plans and documentation;
* Lead recruitment, induction, and staff supervision;
* Support team development and promote a learning culture;
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix;
* Manage budgets in collaboration with finance team;
* Oversee handling of service user and community finances;
* Ensure efficient and ethical resource use;
* Liaise with HIQA, HSE, and external partners;
* Represent the service in external meetings and forums;
* Advocate for resident inclusion, rights, and wellbeing;
Candidate profile: essential qualifications include a Level 7 qualification (or higher) in Social Care or related discipline, minimum 5 years' experience in health or social care, and minimum 3 years' experience in a senior or leadership role. Desirable qualifications include a postgraduate qualification in Social Care Management and experience in community-based or life-sharing environments.
