Job Description

This is a challenging role that requires the right candidate to develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and legislation.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

* Developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures;
* Conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance;
* Delivering training sessions to employees on health and safety procedures;
* Fostering a strong health and safety culture among all employees;
* Overseeing daily health and safety operations and tasks;
* Regularly reviewing and revising company risk assessments, safe operating procedures, health & safety policies, and the safety statement;
* Staying informed about legislative updates and implementing necessary changes;
* Implementing and updating health and safety control measures as needed;
* Conducting routine inspections and audits of the facility to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations;
* Investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes, and implementing preventive and corrective actions;
* Providing guidance and training on safety procedures to all staff;
* Working closely with management to develop and execute risk management strategies;
* Maintaining accurate health and safety records and documentation.


Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Third Level qualification in Health & Safety or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing setting. They will also have comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices.

* A Third Level Qualification in Health & Safety or a related field is required;
* At least 2 years of experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing setting is essential;
* Comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices;
* Experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly advantageous;
* Demonstrated ability to promote continuous improvement;
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team;
* Strong verbal, written, communication, and IT skills;
* Proficiency in conducting Health & Safety investigations;
* Fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
