About The Role
Coffey is currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to support new and existing projects. The Commercial Manager oversees the company's needs, handles daily business issues, manages associations, and recognizes business opportunities. The role involves constant communication and negotiation with clients and business associates. The Commercial Manager utilises their knowledge to verify, oversee, and approve commercial agreements and documentation to ensure the successful delivery of contracts in conjunction with the Operations Directors.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain good relations with clients and their representatives at all times.
* Represent the company's interests at meetings related to the work under their control.
* Support Regional Directors in performing commercial/contractual duties.
* Liaise with other departments to improve service provision and reception.
* Prepare monthly, interim, and final valuations, payment applications, cost reconciliations, and certification for contracts, sub-contractors, specialists, and suppliers.
* Provide information for regular cash flow and contract position reviews.
* Recover all monies entitled to the company for work undertaken.
* Coordinate with the Procurement Manager on supplier agreements and sub-contracts.
* Maintain high morale among direct reports.
The principal duties are to:
* Examine contract documents thoroughly.
* Highlight anomalies.
* Ensure stakeholders understand and adhere to contract obligations.
* Prepare detailed financial outcomes and cost reconciliations for control meetings.
* Coordinate with other departments for contract controls.
* Manage interim and final valuations and payments.
* Prepare and agree on final accounts with clients.
* Ensure timely placement of supplier agreements and sub-contracts.
* Record contractual delays and protect the company's interests.
* Organise contractual claims with senior management.
* Establish cost coding and ensure compliance.
* Attend site progress meetings as needed.
* Coordinate payments for work and services.
* Inform senior management of issues affecting company performance.
* Monitor and review sub-contractor performance.
* Safeguard company assets and confidential information.
* Provide leadership and support to direct reports, promoting continuous improvement.
About You
* A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying/Engineering or similar.
* Membership in a professional institution is preferred but not essential.
* Over 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
* Experience with Public Sector Contracts.
* Possession of a full clean Irish/EU Driving License.
* Legal authorization to work in Ireland (work permit or Stamp 4 visa).
* Excellent written and fluent English skills.
